The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center – Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute (OSUCCC – James) hosted the 11th annual “Celebration for Life” fundraising dinner on Saturday, May 19, 2012 at Smith & Wollensky restaurant at Easton Town Center. The 2012 honorary chair was Cheryl Krueger and Judy and Steve Tuckerman were the event chairs.
Nearly 200 guests were in attendance at the event, which benefits the James Fund for Life, an annual fund at Ohio State chaired by Abigail and Les Wexner, dedicated to raising money for the purchase of leading-edge technology used in the fight against cancer. Together, The James Fund for Life Annual Fund and Celebration for Life 2012 raised $1.17 million.
Proceeds from this year’s event benefited the Technology Acquisition Fund at OSUCCC—James. Established by proceeds from Celebration for Life 2008, the Technology Acquisition fund supports the purchase of life-saving equipment as part of the expansion of
OSUCCC- James. Since 2002, over $10.5 million has been raised and more than 500,000 discoveries, treatments and procedures were made possible by Celebration for Life and James Fund for Life supporters.
