Research DescriptionDr. Lu's primary research interest focuses on the statistical methodology of health outcome research, including evaluation of causal effect in observational data, propensity score adjustment for non-randomized studies with complex design, design and analysis of survey sampling, statistical models for missing data. The cancer relevant applications are tobacco control, smoking cessation, and cancer prevention programs. I have served as the protocol statistician for large cancer diagnostic trials, including National Lung Screen Trial (NLST). I have also served as both the core director and statisticians for large center grants on Appalachian cancer prevention and tobacco control.
